The Voice Kameralaina: Uniklubi & Klamydia

[Polje Video]

][TAMPERE 19.9.08 PAKKAHUONE][

Teemu: Hello from the people from Uniklubi, we got the Voice-camera as a loan and now just like you’re about to see it was funny from the first minutes onwards.

Teemu & Antti: Welcome to the Paskantaa Piikkilankaa-tour à la Uniklubi and Klamydia
Jussi: This is how it starts…
Vesku [on the phone]: I’m on camera; I can’t talk with you anymore, at least not anything witty, love.
Teemu: Touring with the guys was from the first moment on great, from my point of view. We went along with their 20 years anniversary-tour and it was a damned great thing!

[In the bus]
Vesku: Sorry beforehand.
Riku: [?? We’re bad to film…]

Teemu: Lots of credits from our side (?)
Janne: We’ve already listened to the band as little boys, drinking beer and stuff…
Teemu: Yeah like that. We’re very much into them.

[RJP, on the road]
Teemu: The atmosphere with the guys was that sort of thing that we had sat together in the bus for like five minutes but it felt like it was already five years…

Vesku: Now it’s time to cry. *he says the same in English again*
Teemu starts crying theatrically.

Teemu: The so called chemistry between us was right.

Vesku: So now it’s the case that they bring the little girls to our shows, and we bring the women to their shows.
[Everyone’s laughing]

][AURA 19.9.08
NUORTENTALO][

Teemu: So now in any case welcome to Aura, the first venue: Aura’s youth centre. And here we also catch up with ”Valosaatana” [that seems to be their nickname for their Light-technician]
So damn this is gonna be great!
Masa: Probably in size S…
Teemu: Yeah. [no idea what he says]
[Backstage]
Teemu: So because of you we didn’t get any decoration. [?]
Antti: Valosaatana. *light-tech behind the window*
Teemu: — Darkness. [he says something – in English – about Darkness. I happen to understand his Finnish better than his English. No offence XD ]

[Interview-situation]
Tyttö: So if you don’t mind – first Uniklubi and then after that Klamydia.
Vesku: Yesh…
Teemu: [laughs] That sounds exactly like what it is. First Uniklubi and then after that Klamydia.
[Vesku shouts something and everyone’s laughing.]
Tyttö: So now what’s interesting to everyone is: Uniklubi and Klamydia do have a little different style in music, and …
Teemu: What’s that supposed to mean?
[Everyone’s laughing]

Teemu: Well of course the setting with the bands was probably a bit like.. What the fuck?! …
Janne: ..yeah. In the band we thought about that Klamydia had such an incredible own fan-base and then we wondered that what the hell was going to happen…

Jussi: So now this is an interview with Auralehti.
Teemu: That’s what it is…
Antti: Quite a usual interview.
Vesku: But before we forget about that I want to underline right now that absolutely no one is anybody’s support act/warm up in here. We’re in this together and we’re playing together, alternately.
Tyttö: Sure.
Vesku: Uniklubi’s starting tonight, and tomorrow we’re starting.
Tyttö: Are you gonna be on stage together then?
Everyone: Yes.

[21:01. Backstage]
Teemu: Unipluugi’s show is in half an hour.
How’s it going?
Janne: I’m tired.
Jussi: [yawns] How’s my eyeliner? Häh? [at least that’s what I understand]
[Finishing of the setlist]
Teemu: So what’s gonna be the encore?
Jussi: What?
Pasi: „Hetki hiljaa“
Teemu: Yeah. And „Kaikki Nuoret …“ Isn’t that good?

][UNIKLUBI’S SHOW
AURAN NUORTENTALO 19.9.08][

Teemu: So we had those encores with the whole bunch, both bands on the stage at the same time, so two drummers, three guitarists, two bassists and two singers.
So what did they translate? It was that song by Turbonegro, “All my friends are dead”, but …
Janne: It was Finnish… words in the Finnish language.
Teemu: Yeah. „Kaikeilta lähtö henki“ was the name. And the legendary „Lemikkieläimen hatausmaasta“
[note: The Ramone’s Pet Cemetary in Finnish].

][KLAMYDIA’S KEIKKA
AURAN NUORTENTALO 19.9.08][
Vesku [on stage]:
I love the fact that I can be on stage with such young guys…

][UNIKLUBI & KLAMYDIA
PET CEMETARY][

Teemu: It was really incredibly nice.

[Backstage. Aftershow-feelings.]
[In front of the bus]

Teemu: Sooo and welcome to Uniklubi’s and Klamydia’s  common tour, and it went that way that the bus is broken …

[They explain what happened.]

Teemu: The bus-break, it was… well that’s how it goes, really. We were picked up at Tampere’s Pakkahuone and went to a garage nearby, to have the bus fixed. There came the classic tinnitus-sound that’s really harsh. Some sort of a legend born…

[terrible beeping]
Teemu: Here we see Riku off Klamydia, who’s obviously had a little alcohol yesterday and now we have this terrible tinnitus-sound.
Riku: I can’t endure it…
Teemu: Now it stops.
[beeeeeeeeeeeep]
Riku: Oh I’m gonna die…

Teemu: Right into that situation came that sort of Länsi-Linja…
Janne & Teemu: …tourist-bus *laughing*
Teemu: It was a lasting sight that the bands now stood there somewhere.. and some Länsi Linja bus came. […]
[The bands go inside one after the other, Pasi and Teemu talking about something un-understandable.]
Teemu: But then we continued our journey in the Länsi Linja-bus in a good mood to Helsinki.

Teemu in the bus: The bands are such hard guys that the bus broke down from below them.
Klamydia-guy: Exactly.
Antti: Yes.

Teemu in the bus: Now exactly in this moment we’re arriving to the cold and windy Helsingfors. [note: He uses the Swedish name for Helsinki]
[The bands arrive in HKI. The Tavastia can be seen from the stage. Inside there’s NGT:n Antti sitting on the table and eating]
Teemu: And here we go on with a straight special interview: the man who’s been to more shows that we have!
Is it [the food] good?
NGT’s Antti: Well, forced to get something in …

][TAVASTIA BACKSTAGE][
Vesku: This is the legendary Tavastia. Welcome!
Teemu: I can tell that before the camera was rolling there was …. [??]
[Riku & Sami beat box]
Riku: Thanks 🙂
Teemu: Well-done, boys!!

Teemu: And that sort of atmosphere about one and a half hours before the concert … the goncert starts. [note: “goncert” because that’s what he’s making it sound like]
That’s how it looks like [shows the stage]
The show’s a minor matter.

Nooow and Unimuki’s show in about like 10 minutes… feelings backstage …
Jussi: Getting nervous.
Teemu: Yeah getting nervous. We should do something…
Jussi: WAZZUP?

][KLAMYDIA’S SHOW
TAVASTIA-KLUBI 26.9.08][

Janne: And up next the night’s spectacle UK-Klamydia-shared jamming.
Pasi: But everything’s messed up again…

Teemu: [trying very hard to be very cool] F*ck off…!!! *laughs*

][FROM HELSINKI TO TUULOS][

Teemu: Dear people: exactly what shouldn’t have been recorded, so we record it!
[In front of the bus]
Vesku & Jussi singing: „Mä pannen sua annukset että lennät veenukseen,
[Jussi:] me paskannetaan piikilankaa didldldii…“ [note: I won’t translate this because it’s just nonsense]
Jussi: I feel we should…
[Everyone’s laughing. Vesku and Jussi doing nonsense on the parking lot, Vesku introduces ”Jussi Selo”, Pasi just shakes is head in disbelief and goes inside the bus.]
[In front of the bus]
Teemu: Janne Selo, Uniklubi, is it stupid or good?
… Be honest XD
Janne: Honestly? I can say that this is rather tipsy…

[Teemu complaining about the dirty camera lens]

][TUULOS 27.9.08
KAPAKANMÄKI][

NGT’s Antti: Tuulos. Here is the beginning of Klamydia’s show.
Teemu: Heeeeeere iiiiiis…
Jussi: Well let’s go see it!
Others: Let’s go!

Janne: The shows were really, really good, and…
Teemu: Definitely
Janne: And the group was really… good and it was good that there were all of our fans and then the fans of Klamydia…

Teemu: In Tuulos we really broke the audience-record of the month. But the it was together with Klamydia… *laughing* But well our basic motto:
Janne: First it’s Uniklubi …
Janne & Teemu: … And then Klamydia 🙂

][UNIKLUBIS SHOW
TUULOKSEN KAPAKANMÄKI 27.9.08][

Teemu: Well well, close to the end but welcome to the Paskantaa Piikkilankaa aftertour feelings!
Vesku: It was great! *shouts*
Teemu: Finnish rock’n’roll history again, to some extend.

Jussi: We should go ask our audience…
Teemu: Yeah, the audience!! How’s it been?!
[One of the girl had lots of fun, the other didn’t really like it.]

Janne: Thanks to the Voice for giving us the camera, maybe we’ll meet again on some sequel… this is going to be a loan for forever… or was it only four or five months?
But thanks, and thanks for bearing with us…

[In the bus]
Vesku: We’ve been together on stage and there did come the feeling that I enjoyed seeing those faces all the time. It’s a damn old phrase but yes, dammit it’s true for this group as well: Two completely different bands but fuck, rock’n’roll IS unlimited, really!
