Both: Good morning.
Nivala: Now today there’s for example… oh well, for example, I hope there’s not more than this today, but now today there’s the show at Baroona Areena in Espoo, you’re there and there’s Lordi and Pete Parkkonen and others. But now our goal is to show your new video that’s already been in the first view this morning at seven. Now there’s another chance to get a taste of it and you can present it yourselves. You mentioned earlier that the video was filmed last week?!
Teemu: That’s right.
Nivala: Well usually it takes like a month, what did you do that it was finished within a week?
Jussi: There were such hard guys working on the video, that…
Teemu: …like for example me and Jussi! [laughing] No, well, just greetings to the legendary guys that they got it done in such a hectic time schedule, and got it done in time.
Elina: It’s also a song that… well I can say that I haven’t listened to Uniklubi that much before or didn’t like it that much but that song is really playing a lot right now, it’s really great!
Teemu: Thanks a lot, that’s nice to hear.
Jussi: Thank you, that’s good … yeah.
[Elina and Teemu start speaking at the same time]
Teemu: You’ve lied to us before. [laughing]
Elina: Noo, I haven’t!
Nivala: Now we got her. [everyone is laughing]
Elina: No no, I didn’t mean it like that.
Nivala: That’s typical of women again!
Elina: Yeah. Well but, how did you get into that direction now?
Jussi: … it just … well the song was like, it was quite clear, that… it was clear what we did there, so that… ..well or maybe in a way that we didn’t … [Teemu helps him out]
Teemu: We tried to show some Beatles-aspects. No, but generally while making the record Syvään Valoon we did the songs like they had to be done. Like, if there was something special needed for the song, then the special thing was done.
Elina: Yesterday we secretly had a quick look at the video already and Nivala was like, „Oh! Oho!“ , that sort of sound when he saw you since you looked so good in the video that he sort of … well yeah, like I said before.
Teemu: […?…]
Elina: Exactly. Now, the great idea about the video is that you grow older in it.
Teemu: Yes, that’s right.
Nivala: The song really rather sounds like something by the Beatles, or something, and here it comes now: Uniklubi’s new video, Kukka on the first play at Voice Heräämö.
[in the background they start playing a very schlager-like song, like a slow Finnish tango, really weird. The guys start laughing.]
Now that’s something really new from your side.
Teemu: Yeah! *still laughing*
Jussi: Actually…
[The song is still playing in the background, now someone’s singing. The next thing said is referring to the song. They go on joking]
Elina: It’s quite… Jussi now that you had your vocal folds operated you can hear quite a difference here on this song!
Jussi: wellll… yeah. Isn’t it like more … manly?
Teemu: Yeah. And the vibrato works very well on this one. La-a-a-a-aaa…. [he imitates it, then there’s a silence]
Elina: No, really…
Nivala: Now well, have I chosen the wrong song right now, did I confuse something?
Teemu: That’s the demo!
Nivala: Aaah, the demo version, okay! No but really, we can watch the real video right now and see you aging.
After that we’ll continue with the gentlemen from Uniklubi, and there’s also going to be something from Juha Valvio with his „Mysteerimatkat“ here on the voice Heräämö.
[note: Mysteerimatkat is a part of the show where one has to find out by sounds and description to what ‚mysterious‘ place the guy travelled]
[After that there’s the weird voice saying that the programme can be watched/listened to via the internet every day. And then they finally play Kukka. Towards the end of the song, while the video is still playing, Nivala says:]
Uniklubi – Kukka here on the voice Heräämö first view. You could enjoy the song at shortly past seven already and now here was the second chance. We also have Jussi and Teemu from the band as our guests. We’ll continue together with them soon but before that we’ll have Juha Valvio on the on the line, good morning!
[I am not translating what comes next because it’s not about the guys or anything. It’s just the Mysteerimatkat he talked about and it’s not important for our purposes 😉 After a while, Elina continues.]
Elina: So, Uniklubin Jussi & Teemu are still around. Now, some time ago in summer you did an interview that took place on a bungee-tower, it was Jussi and Pasi there back then. And I didn’t really think back when we I stood there on the tower and said „one of us is going to jump, and if the guys don’t dare, then I’ll do it.“ But now Jussi, what was it like for you and Pasi?
Jussi: We’ll let’s say that it was quite a … so to say sweaty morning for me and Pasi. It was like, why can’t we just go somewhere, talking a little and get over with it…
Teemu: Yeah, in a life-shortening sort of way… [laughing]
Elina: Teemu what would you have said if you’d had to do an interview like that. [?]
Teemu: Actually I’ve seen the interview not too long ago when it was on the re-run and sort of ‚updated‘ it for myself and thought about what it’d be like because I never jumped but yeah I’d like to do bungee jumping once.
Elina: A-haa so you would have done that?!
Teemu: Jep, I guess I would have jumped.
Elina: Damn. […]
Teemu: Yeah. Without the rope. […] [wtf? XD]
Jussi: Well next summer if there’s going to be a similar occasion, just get him out of the bus and then make him jump!
Nivala [interrupting]: Actually we could now…
Teemu [interrupting too]: If another occasion like that comes then I promise I’ll jump down there!
Nivala: Now, let’s take the opportunity now because now somebody – Jussi or Teemu, either one of you – would have to jump into the unknown…
Elina: How do we know how unknown it is?
Nivala: Well maybe it’s also a known thing! Now, this morning we had the Seppälä-designer Katja Tuhkasaari as a guest and she talked about her pants-manifesto, or actually the dress-manifesto, as she denies wearing pants and only ever wears dresses. And now we got a dress which we have here! … waiting for you after we played the next song, Apulanta. Maybe it’s for you, Teemu, since you’d dare jumping …
Teemu: Well I did have this thing with a dress some time and the girls liked it… [?]
Nivala: And would you also deliver us the weather while wearing the dress?
Teemu: Sure.
Nivala: Great. So you can get dressed and where waiting for the weather news.
[There’s advertisements after that, and then they play ‚Ravistettava ennen käyttöä‘ by Apulanta]
Nivala: Apulanta – Ravistettava ennen käyttöä on the Voice Heräämö. There’s also going to be an Apulanta-Special on the weekend where there’s going to be half an hour of music videos by Apulanta and the re-run would be on Sunday at three o’clock. We still have Jussi and Teemu from Uniklubi as our guests.
[Teemu already wears the dress when they show him.]
Have you ever run into Apulanta on the way all around Finland?
Teemu: Sure, of course we did, quite often actually. [they start laughing]
Nivala: Now if you’re wondering while we’re smiling so much on here that’s because we talked about Seppälä-Designer Katja Tuhkasaari’s dress-manifesto earlier and now we can also see UK’s Teemu in a dress.
Teemu: Yeah, I also denied the pants for now.
Elina: You’ve endured quite a few things now! But you just said, „yeah, sure thing“, got out of your clothes and put on that little dress!
Teemu: […?…]
Nivala: That looked quite natural, you probably wore dresses before?
Teemu: Exactly, I had one on during the Juhannus show 2005, I played in a flowery dress back then. [note: it was 2006, I swear.]
Elina: Mum and dad hoped for a daughter, then?
Teemu: Weeeelllll that might be. Greetings, by the way : )
Nivala: Jussi, what about your feminine side? Do you take interest in women’s clothing, too?
Jussi: Hmmm, not that much. But I do wear women’s jeans!
Nivala: Where do you get the best women’s jeans in Tampere?!
Jussi: Well ONLY is quite a good shop.
[both Jussi and Nivala say something else after that, but I don’t understand either of them. Jussi is talking about jeans for little girls, but well…]
Elina: Now what about Apulanta, do you have any nice story about them? Did they ever wear dresses?
Teemu: They probably wear mental dresses all the time, but actually I remember one story from Seinäjoki 2005 as well. Now early in the morning after the show, [we were?] in the guys bus watching the sunrise and then their technician explained something to the guys and the vocal artist Wirtsanen peed into exactly that gentleman’s sweater’s pocket, like, all the time. Now when he noticed, one can just say that, yeah, it was funny.
Elina: Quite a big pocket, was it?
Teemu: Yeah… or well …
[Suddenly everyone starts laughing]
Elina: These kinds of things might also be happening on Vappu [note: 1st of May]. And on Vappu you’re going to have a show in Helsinki as well as in Mäntsälä. Is that a typical place four you to play shows on Vappu?
Teemu: uh.. sure. We’re always playing in Helsinki and Mäntsälä on the 1st of May!!
[Jussi & him are laughing]
Elina: Well well, Nivala is originally from Mäntsälä, that’s why we recognised that you were going to play there.
Nivala: Have you ever been playing a show in Mäntsälä?
Jussi: No.
Nivala: It’s a really small place, it’s not even a city. You cannot even go there by train anymore. So I have to warn you a little that this is going to be horrible!
Teemu: Aah well we’re from Ikaalinen and Hämeenkyrö ourselves and you don’t get there by train either, so…
Nivala: Okay. So now there less than 17000 inhabitants…
Jussi and Teemu are answering at the same time, Teemu wins: Now that’s quite a metropolis.
Nivala: But Ikaalinen is a city, there are like … how many people?
Teemu: Not even 10000 I think.
Nivala: Oh really? What about Hämeenkyrö?
Jussi: About 10000. [note: He says something that’s probably funny since everyone starts laughing, but I don’t get the joke]
Nivala: Well then maybe you don’t have to fear anything. [note: there’s something more about trains and forbidden things, but again, I don’t get it.] In Mäntsälä there are two bars. And you’re going to play in one of them. There’s probably not even a stage, you’re gonna play like… in some corner behind the bar tables.
Teemu: Noo, I don’t believe that. I guess it’s going to be a great show.
Jussi: Yeah, I believe Mäntsälä is going to have the best Vappu-show ever now that we’re playing there! At least the best party!
Teemu: Yes.
Elina: You’re going to have Nivala as your bodyguard then!
Jussi: Yeah. And tonight there’s going to be the show in Espoo.
Teemu: Jep … [note: Jussi obviously wants to say something else and then each of them interrupts himself, they look at each other in a fashion of ‚who’s gonna say something first?‘ and then start laughing.] Yeah. Yeah…
Nivala: At the Baroona Areena.
Jussi: Yes, everyone come there today.
Nivala: You started playing in arenas now!
Teemu: Yeah, we’re currently doing a stadium-tour! [laughing]
Jussi: And then on to Mentsälä! [more laughter]
Elina [is saying something INCREDIBLY fast and then]: But now Teemu that you have your pretty spaghetti strap dress on, will you be our weather boy today?
Nivala: Well actually we’ll first have the news and then the flowerdress-weather … or well actually just a dress-weather in the style of Uniklubi’s bassist Teemu.
[Advertisement – News. Not translating those either. After the news Nivala explains what’s on next. Teemu can already be seen in his really extremely nice dress and standing beside a map of Finland that’s indicating the weather. He also introduces Teemu as their weatherboy/ -girl and then it’s Teemu’s turn]
Teemu: Thank you and good morning, people of Finland. According to [whatever], the weather continues being nice, in most areas with sunshine. In Kainuu and Northern Karelia there might be a little sleet in the morning. The temperature in the country’s western parts is 10°C and on the eastern border and in Lapland around 5°C, in the rest of country might be space weather. The driving conditions are good in the whole country.
Nivala: Oh well, Teemu you look so cute in that dress, I might have fallen in love a little.
Teemu: Let’s get … married!
Nivala: Let’s go! – Uniklubi are playing in the Baroona Areena today. A good morning to everyone!
